Spring and Summer 2007 bring some new trends in women’s fashion bringing back the feminine look with dresses. Dresses that are romantic and shorter than in the past decade are seen on the catwalk that are showing a lot of legs are now quite popular. And for the woman who doesn’t like wearing dresses the new luxury sport look is also sure to catch the clothing connoisseurs eye as well as everyone else’s.
The hemlines are all over the place but lean towards showing a lot of legs. Mini dresses are really back and are quite the trendsetters. Also the empire dress with a high waistline has its comeback not only in the dress but you will see the waistline high with also pants, jackets and skirts. There are also a lot of new belts coming out that can make any dress or skirt high waisted. These empire minis can be worn as dresses or as tunic tops with a pair of jeans or pants. Leggings are also popular this year with the mini empire dress.
The dress styles that are popular this year are endless from the popular little black dress to an empire waist dress, to dresses that have bras built into them to dresses made of lace, and also the halter dress. A new style called the parka dress can be worn as a jacket or a dress and is one of the newest styles for 2007. Many of the dresses this year will be studded with a variety of jewels and embellishments.
This new luxury sport look does not partner with having any athletic ability at all outside maybe being athletic at shopping but rather a new look that comes from mainstream fashion with a sporty and military look. Looks like the bomber jacket from two decades ago in metallic worn with a short skirt or short pant are more like the new luxury sport look than a beefed up jogging suit. This type of attire can be worn during the day but also go right into the night and always has a twist of glamour and glitz thrown in. Gold and silver metallic will be seen on all the racks for Spring and Summer fashion.
Additionally, the sporty looks are made of shiny fabrics like satins and of course the metallic fabrics giving almost a futuristic look to luxury sport clothing and the colors are vibrant and bright to include neon’s. This type of luxury sport clothing is not meant to wear to the gym but rather for going out on the town. This is the new look in nightclub wear.
Even the daywear that will be seen is shiny with silver and gold fabrics for just run around wear in a sporty style.
All types of dresses are big this year whether they be short or mini or even long. The fabrics are futuristic looking to include plastic, rubber, leather, patent and satins as well as metallic that stand out in gold and silver with lots of luster and shine.
The romantic look will remain in dresses and skirts and tops that include floral and lace. Traditional folk clothing from the sixties with peasant necklines and paisley prints are a sure hit for 2007.
The loose look of soft knits and over sized clothing will also be seen right near someone who is wearing the luxury sport look with shine and neon.
Bold prints with abstract designs of the sixties with an earthy element will also be popular as well as clashing color mixes of bright neon.
The clinging and fit clothing from the eighties is back as well but with the glitz of futuristic materials.
The major focus this year is the dress as the most important focus as well as futuristic materials with a focus on color, texture and print. The mid rift will be covered this year but there is a push towards showing lots of leg.
Overall, sixties, seventies and eighties styles are all the rage for 2007. There are some changes made to styles from the last few seasons but they have a new look. The mini dress is hot on the must have list and they come in everything from empire to the fitted mini with a focus on the waistline of the dress. For spring and summer you will find a lot of white again like last spring and summer.
Prints are back that are definitely the seventies styling that include prints, animal and florals. Women of any shape can find a dress that has a print that looks good on them. Women with a smaller stature should of course stay away from large prints and women with a larger stature should not go with a print that is small or frilly. Scarves with a print or shoes or bags with a print are also great to get your wardrobe trendy.
